Churches are the heart of Luke House. Churches provide the food, volunteers, and prayers that make Luke House thrive. There are a few meals each month that are available for churches looking to serve the hungry of Madison. Churches find their work at Luke House to be fulfilling and meaningful. Our 33 church partners each serve a monthly meal at Luke House. Many of our groups have been serving meals for more than 30 years. Why do these churches continue this tradition, month after month, year after year?
- It is an opportunity to make a real impact on the homeless and hungry in our own community
- It is a meaningful and way of living out their faith
- The camaraderie of working alongside fellow church members
- A sense of accomplishment and fulfillment at the end of each meal
